I bought my parents one of these last Christmas. I don't think anything more need be said. But I'll indulge you. The Technivorm Moccamaster is the only coffeemaker on the market (to my knowledge) that actually does a good job brewing drip coffee. It is certified by the SCAA because it complies with their "Gold Cup Standards" of brewing. What is the secret? A couple things. It brews at the appropriate temperature the entire brew cycle. And it has a large shower head that distributes the water over the grounds more evenly than brewers with one small flow of water. It comes apart very easily so it's a breeze to keep clean. And the model we sell has a stainless steel insulated carafe, so the coffee isn't sitting on a burner. This is a great coffee maker. Before this, my parents were using a Bunn, and I could never tell which of my coffees they were brewing. Now it's easy to tell by smelling or tasting- the flavors and aromas are so much more clear in the Technivorm. If you need more convincing, check out this video.
