ShantaGolba is the name of a processing mill in the Sidama region of Ethiopia. The coffee comes from an exporter named Ashenafi Argaw, who was once part of the Ninety Plus team that brought us Aricha and Nekisse and many other memorable coffees from Ethiopia. His partner, Steve Holt was part owner of Ninety Plus, and is the person who hosted me at the Gesha farm in Panama so many years ago. Steve’s new venture is importing top-tier Ethiopians, and after working together for so long selling some of the best coffees in the world, Steve and I have big plans for the next few years. This re-introduction coffee is a softball. We’re easing you in with mild florals and fruits that will delight and entice and make you wonder what’s to come. Get ready.
