- My friend, Steve Holt has been selling us coffee for as long as I can remember. He sent me the first samples of Aricha and Beloya from Ninety Plus way back in 2008, and I’ve purchased countless coffees from him ever since. In Steve’s latest project, he’s working with his Ethiopian business partner, Ashenafi Argaw, to bring more stellar coffees from the origin of all coffee. This one has soft fruit flavors like you might expect from a washed Ethiopian. Produced by smallholder farmers near the town of Daye Bensa, the cherries are dried on raised beds at the ShantaGolba mill. Even though the world of coffee is in turmoil, we are fortunate to have friends who are dedicated to quality, intimate with the producing regions of Ethiopia, and loyal to our long-standing relationship.
